On October 20, Facebook page Armen Ararad published a post inciting ethnic strife and calling on ethnic Armenians living in Georgia to return to Armenia, claiming that in Georgia “your roof will always have a hole.” The post also contains a drawing of Georgian map with Armenian flag depicted in its center. The post got over 7,400 views during 17 hours.
The Facebook page Armen Ararad was created on September 29, 2020 and on October 4, it spread the post containing disinformation. The post involved a drawing with Georgia’s Samtskhe-Javakheti Region marked in red and portrayed as part of Armenia. The drawing was accompanied by a caption: “Akhalkalaki is Armenia. Akhaltsikhe is Armenia.” Shortly after Myth Detector published an article regarding the issue, the page deleted the post.
Besides the sponsored post inciting strife, the page involves a painting depicting an armed man with a candle. No other posts are available on the page.
